font-family: inherit; font-weight: inherit; color: initial;\">Station to operate Telephone request shows, allowing its listeners to call the station and place their requests or dedications whilst the station was still on the air.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>3..<\/strong> Was the First Pirate Radio station to operate multiple sequential transmission sites changing every 2-3 hours to prevent detection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4..<\/strong> Radio Kaleidoscope was Southend-on-Sea&#8217;s first Pirate Radio station.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5..<\/strong> The first and only land based Pirate Radio station to be <a title=\"Chris McCarthy \u2013 Engineering\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bookamook.com\/kaleidoscope\/profiles\/chris-mccarthy\/\">jammed<\/a> by Harold Wilson&#8217;s government in 1970.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6..<\/strong> First Pirate radio station to broadcast simultaneously on MW, <a title=\"Canadian Wireless Set No. 43 \u2013 Radio Kaleidoscope Transmitter\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bookamook.com\/kaleidoscope\/gallery\/equipment\/canadian-ws-c-43-set-transmitter\/\">SW<\/a> and VHF.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7..<\/strong>\u00a0First Land based Pirate radio station to be flooded with free promo records direct from a variety of Record producers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8..<\/strong> The Radio Kaleidoscope DJ name &#8220;<a title=\"DJ \u2013 Steve T \u201cJolly Orange\u201d, \u201cJohnny Orange\u201d J.O.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bookamook.com\/kaleidoscope\/profiles\/dj-steve-t-jolly-orange\/\">Jolly Orange<\/a>&#8221; became a global consumer brand name for a variety of \u00a0products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9..<\/strong> The first Radio station to support its local community and business, running free advertisements for local Pubs, Services, Products, Church Jumble sales &amp;
