1..<\/strong> “Kathy Jeanett<\/a>a” at the age of 15Yrs old\u00a0 was one of the Nations first few and youngest female Radio Disc Jockey of the 60’s and certainly a first for Southend-on Sea when she began her broadcasting career on Radio Kaleidoscope during 1969.<\/p>\n

2..<\/strong> Beginning in 1967 Radio Kaleidoscope was the first Radio Station to operate Telephone request shows, allowing its listeners to call the station and place their requests or dedications whilst the station was still on the air.<\/span><\/p>\n

3..<\/strong> Was the First Pirate Radio station to operate multiple sequential transmission sites changing every 2-3 hours to prevent detection.<\/p>\n

4..<\/strong> Radio Kaleidoscope was Southend-on-Sea’s first Pirate Radio station.<\/p>\n

5..<\/strong> The first and only land based Pirate Radio station to be jammed<\/a> by Harold Wilson’s government in 1970.<\/p>\n

10..<\/strong> Radio Kaleidoscope team member Chris McCarthy<\/a> was the first to track down the new Government Radio Jamming station at Canewdon, Essex 1970.<\/p>\n
