| Radio Kaleidoscope 14-August-2017
It was reported that one of the most advanced pirate radio broadcasts ever made took place at Southend-on-Sea between 12-14August 2017 Radio Kaleidoscope a station from the 60’s celebrated its 50th Year anniversary by beaming signals across Essex and South London from a total of 15 x Pop-Up Radio Stations (PURS). All of the 13, Essex based PURS used the same 96.0MHz FM Channel without causing any interference! Each radio station was strategically placed between “Horndon on the hill” and “Southend-on-Sea” (including the Pier) all within a 15 mile window. Disk Jockeys heard: Andy Bowman (Buster) Bernard Anthony (Mike Baker) Stevie T Twenty-four Stations had been set up and equipped for this broadcast but only 15 were actually used on the day. Each station was broadcasting the exact same program material. |
