Radio Kaleidoscope

Roger Lane was one of those DJs who preferred anonymity. His taped shows, which were very popular, would be sent to Radio Kaleidoscope by post. After use the tapes would be bulk-erased and returned to the relevant DJs, in Roger’s case to an address in Kent, close to Dover.

Many of Radio Kaleidoscope's transmissions were broadcast from Southend-on-Sea, at the mouth of the Thames estuary directly opposite Kent. With only the water separating the the two counties, Radio Kaleidoscope was very audible in Kent, with many signal reports provided by Roger and others.
